Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 30, 2026
The Switchboard Collective LLC (“Switchboard,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use theswitchboardcollective.com, our product apps and websites, and related services (together, the “Service”).
We do not sell personal information. By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, phone number, name or display name, and sign-in identifiers.
- Contact and waitlist information: details you submit through apply, newsletter, waitlist, or contact forms.
- SMS and authentication data: phone numbers used to send one-time passcodes and related delivery metadata from our messaging providers.
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser or app type, pages or screens viewed, timestamps, and similar technical data.
- Analytics: product analytics (such as PostHog) that help us understand how the Service is used.
- Communications: messages, feedback, and support requests you send us.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- operate, secure, and improve the Service;
- create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- send transactional SMS messages such as one-time verification codes;
- respond to applications, newsletter signups, and support requests;
- comply with law and protect against abuse or fraud.
3. Text Messaging (SMS)
If you provide a phone number and request a sign-in or verification code, we use that number to send transactional SMS messages containing one-time passcodes and related account security notices from The Switchboard Collective.
- Message frequency varies. You typically receive a message when you request a code.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Reply STOP to opt out of SMS from that program. Reply HELP for help.
- We use telephony providers such as Twilio to deliver SMS. Those providers process phone numbers and message content only to send messages on our behalf.
Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Marketing SMS, if offered later, will require separate opt-in.
4. How We Share Information
We share information with service providers who help us operate the Service—including hosting, analytics, email, authentication, and SMS providers such as Twilio—or when required for legal, safety, or business-transfer reasons. We do not sell personal information. Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You may update account information where supported, unsubscribe from marketing emails, control browser cookies, opt out of SMS as described above, and request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction where applicable law gives you those rights.
